  • Interface programme on arecanut farming on 24th June, 2016 at Sullia for the benefit of 55 farmers

Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (January – March 2016)

Introduction                                     

The “Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG)” scheme has been initiated at ICAR- CPCRI Regional Station, Vittal with the objective of promoting the direct interface of scientists with the farmers to hasten the lab to land process. Under this scheme, nine villages were adopted to provide farmers with required information, knowledge and advisories on regular basis. Information about the village, like list of farmers, major crops, infrastructural facilities, major problems faced by farmers etc. were collected. Training /interface programs were conducted in these villages to address the problems of farmers and also provided folders/technical bulletins to farmers.

A total of 7 field day/ training/interface were organised at different adopted villages during the quarter from 1st January to 31st March, 2016. In addition to this advisories and guidance were given to farmers through personal contacts/mobile/sms. Also visited the village

  • A training program of cropping systems in plantation crop was held on 12.01.2016 at Balpa. The program was inaugurated by Sri. Prakash Mudnoor, President Balpa grama panchayath.  About 115 farmers were participated in the training cum demonstration program.  The scientists farmer interaction section was held after the inaugural function. Scientists from CPCRI Regional Station, Vittal, Subject matter specialist from KVK were the resource persons. Queries of the farmers related to various issues were answered by the resource persons. The procedure for the preparation of Boardaux mixture was demonstrated to the farmers. 
  • Training programme on 'Arecanut Based Multispecies Cropping System' sponsored by Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development (DASD), Calicut was organized at Palthady, Puttur Taluk., Dakshina Kannada Dt., Karnataka on 20.01.16 in connection with Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Scheme. A total of 110 trainees attended the programme and got benefitted.
  • A training on arecanut and coconut based cropping system was organized in Manchi Village, Dakshina Kannada on 23.01.2016 in connection with Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Scheme. A total of 66 farmers attended the programme and got benefitted.
  • A field day on ‘Cocoa- A Profitable Mixed Crop in Palm Based Cropping Systems” was organized in connection with Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Scheme on 19th March, 2016 atKuppepadavu Grama Panchayat, Mangalore Taluk, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka with sponsorship from Directorate of Cashew and Cocoa Development (DCCD), Kochi. Eighty nine farmers participated in the field day.
  • Training on “ Cocoa –a profitable mixed crop in palm based cropping system” was organized in connection with Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Schemeon 22nd march 2016 at Golthamajalu village, , Bantwal Taluk, DK dist,. The programme was sponsored by Directorate of Cashew and Cocoa Development (DCCD), Kochi. 85persons including panchayath officers and farmers  participated in this training.
  • Field day on ‘Arecanut-cocoa mixed cropping system for higher productivity’was organized in connection with Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Schemeon 28th  march 2016 at Koyyur village, Belthangady Taluk, DK dist,. The programme was sponsored by Directorate of Cashew and Cocoa Development (DCCD), Kochi. 80 farmers participated in this programme.
  • Field day  on ‘Arecanut-cocoa mixed cropping system for higher productivity’was organized in connection with Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Schemeon 30th  march 2016 at Nelliyady village, Puttur Taluk, DK dist,. The programme was sponsored by Directorate of Cashew and Cocoa Development (DCCD), Kochi. 128 farmers participated in this programme.
  • Visited a team of scientists to Illanthila village, Belthangady Taluk on 21.03.2016 to disseminate information on nutrition of arecanut and management of inflorescence die back, pentatomid bug and root grub.
