Valedictory Function Swachhata Hi Seva- 2026 on 1st Oct- 2026

The Valedictory Function of Swachhata hi Seva–2026 was organised at ICAR–Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (ICAR–CPCRI), Kasaragod, on 1st October 2026, marking the culmination of the Swachhata activities undertaken at the Institute during the campaign. The valedictory function commenced at 4:30 pm at PJ Hall with Vande Mataram, followed by the ICAR Song. Dr. Prathibha P. S., Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat–2026, delivered the Welcome Address and highlighted the significance of collective participation in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and environmental responsibility within the Institute and the surrounding community. A brief presentation of the activities taken up for the past two weeks have been done. The programme was presided over by Dr. K. B. Hebbar, Director, ICAR–CPCRI, who delivered the Presidential Address. He emphasised the importance of sustaining the spirit of Swachhata beyond the campaign period and integrating cleanliness, responsible waste management and civic sense into the routine functioning of the Institute. The Hon’ble MLA, Kasaragod, addressed the gathering as the Chief Guest and appreciated the initiatives undertaken by ICAR–CPCRI under Swachh Bharat–2026. The address highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and active participation of institutions, employees and the public in building cleaner and more sustainable communities. As part of the valedictory programme, 10 best contractual workers of ICAR–CPCRI were felicitated in recognition of their exemplary contribution towards Swachhata and institutional service. In addition, three outstanding field-oriented technical personnel were felicitated for their dedicated field-level contributions and services to the Institute. The recognition programme acknowledged the important role played by support and field staff in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and efficient functioning of the Institute.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Shilpa Selvan, Scientist and Co-Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat–2026, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Director, staff members and all participants for their active involvement and support throughout the campaign. The valedictory function was ended with ceremonial planting of Thespesia populnea in beach block by Hon.MLA. The valedictory function served as a meaningful culmination of the Swachh Bharat–2026 activities at ICAR–CPCRI, reinforcing the message that Swachhata is a continuous collective responsibility that extends beyond a campaign and becomes an integral part of institutional culture and environmental stewardship.
