Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 Inaugurated at ICAR-CPCRI

The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 was inaugurated at ICAR–Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (ICAR-CPCRI), Kasaragod, on 17 September 2026 by Dr. K. B. Hebbar, Director, ICAR-CPCRI. In his inaugural address, the Director emphasized that cleanliness is a shared responsibility and called upon all staff members to actively participate in the campaign activities
The Director administered the Swachhata Pledge, with nearly 150 staff members participating in the programme. Dr. Prathibha P. S., Senior Scientist and Nodal Officer, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the objectives of the campaign and the importance of collective participation in promoting a clean and sustainable environment. Dr. Shilpa S. Selvan, Scientist and Co-Nodal Officer, proposed the vote of thanks.
As part of the inaugural programme, the Director also inaugurated the “Swachhata Hi Seva Selfie Point” established on the institute premises to promote awareness and public participation. This was followed by a “Cleanliness Awareness Rally” from the institute to the nearby Chowki area of Mogralputtur Grama Panchayat, during which staff members actively participated in cleanliness activities and spread awareness on maintaining clean public spaces.
The campaign will continue until 2 October 2026, with activities including Swachhata Gyan Yatras, cleanliness drives, identification and cleaning of difficult-to-clean and high-footfall areas, Waste-to-Art initiatives, Clean and Green festivities, and promotion of eco-friendly and zero-waste celebrations. The campaign will culminate in Swachh Bharat Diwas, reinforcing the message of “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat” and the importance of collective responsibility for a clean and sustainable India.
