World Environment Day was celebrated at ICAR-CPCRI, Regional Station, Kayamkulam on 5^th June 2025. Students, farmers and staff of CPCRI and KVK, Alappuzha participated in the celebrations. Dr. S. Indhuja (Scientist) welcomed the gathering and also briefed about the genesis of World Environment Day celebration. Dr. Regi Jacob Thomas (Head) delivered the presidential address. Shri. C. Rajendran IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests (Rtd.) was the Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of curbing plastic pollution and need for conservation of nature. He emphasised on the role of sacred groves in maintaining balance of ecosystems. Dr. A. Joseph Rajkumar, Principal Scientist, delivered a lecture on the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. An elocution competition was conducted for the students of Krishnapuram Government U. P. School. AI based collage competition was organised for the staff. Saplings were planted for the establishment of a butterfly park in ICAR-CPCRI, Regional Station, Kayamkulam. Dr. Jilu V. Sajan (Scientist) proposed vote of thanks.
