Chowghat Orange Dwarf  (Dwarf variety)

  • • Dwarf variety suitable for tender nut production.
  • It bears medium sized, round, orange-coloured fruits.
  • • Also has potential in landscaping as an ornamental palm.
  • Palms commence flowering 3-4 years after planting
  • • Tender nut water content is 350 ml, copra content is around 128 g, with oil content of 66%.
  • The variety yields 112-192 nuts/palm /year, under irrigation and good management.
  • Recommended for cultivation in all coconut growing regions.

Kalpasree (Dwarf variety)

  • • A root (wilt) disease tolerant dwarf variety.
  • • Fruits are medium sized, oblong, dark green with a characteristic "beak" in mature fruits.
  • • Palms commence flowering 24- 30 months after planting.
  • • Tender nut water content is 240 ml, copra content is around 96 g , with oil content of 66.5%.
  • • The variety yields 90-107 nuts /palm/year, in root (wilt) disease endemic areas.
