Institute-Industry Interface


Industry day was observed at ICAR-CPCRI on 31 January 2017 by organizing an Institute-Industry Interface christened as ‘Dream BIG-KALPA 2017’ under the auspices of Agri-Business Incubation Centre (NAIF).  Entrepreneurs, industrialists and FPOs from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Goa were participated in the programme. 

P. V. Velayudan, Director, MSME-DI, Thrissur inaugurated and called upon to make use of the new initiatives of Union Government on strengthening entrepreneurship in the country.  He also mentioned about various schemes of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department for the upcoming entrepreneurs. 

P. Chowdappa Director CPCRI in his presidential address flagged off issues related to competitive production of value added products for successful marketing.  He briefly talked about various activities of the Institute that are having direct bearing on policy formulations and technology scaling up. 

Jyotis Jagannathan, DGM, NABARD talked about credit availability and D.  Rajendran, General Manager, DIC, Kasaragod on assistance available from Industry Department for starting business ventures.  C. M. Kamaraj Industrialist Coimbatore appraised about emerging domestic and international markets for coconut products like Virgin Coconut Oil and coconut milk.

K. Muralidharan made a presentation on commercially important technologies developed at CPCRI followed by a panel discussion which was moderated by C. Thamban.

MoAs were signed for transfer of 12 technologies such as ‘kalparasa and sugar’, VCO, coconut chips, ‘kalpa krunch’, etc. during the meet.
