Celebration of 150 Years of Mahatma at ICAR-CPCRI, Kasaragod

    As part of Gandhi Jayanthi Programme, CPCRI Staff Members  actively participated in the cleaning of road-side in front of the institute gate.

Shri. K. R. Kannan, freedom fighter and trade unionist hailing from Nileswaram was the chief guest of the function. He encouraged the new generation to imbibe the values held by Gandhij such as truth and non violence for the betterment of the nation.

He was addressing CPCRI staff and students of various schools at CPCRI on the occasion of Gandhi jayanthi celebtations. Fortnightly-celebrations to mark 150 years of Mahatma was organized at ICAR-CPCRI from 17 September to 2 October 2019 .

  Dr. Anitha Karun, Director, ICAR-CPCRI presided over the function and remarked about the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s initiative on  Swaach Bharat as a befitting tribute to Mahatma. 

Quiz and drawing competitions were conducted for school students and staff and prizes were distributed in the valedictory function held on 2 October 2019 at CPCRI. 

Jaimatha Senior Secondary School, Kasaragod won the first prize for quiz competition, and the second prize was bagged by T.I.H.S., Naimarmoola, Kasaragod and third prize by K.V. No.1, CPCRI, Kasaragod.  K.V. No.1 won the first prize for drawing competition and T.I.H.S., Naimarmoola won the second and third prizes.

  Dr. K. Muralidharan, Head Social Sciences division, welcomed the gathering and Dr. P. S. Prathibha proposed vote of thanks.
